Irony

The gas tank on the car is full.
But there are not many places left to visit.

The library is closed.

Church is closed.

Movie theaters are closed.

Three of mom's appointments have been rescheduled.
(May is going to be a nightmare of catching-up, assuming this has blown over by then.)

Banks and brokerage firms are closing down their in person services and verifying beneficiaries on their accounts.  (Creepy - Are they expecting mom & stepfather to die, or are they just trying to find work to fill their days?)

Mom & stepfather's assisted living is closed to everyone except staff and medical personnel.  The staff get to do their laundry - more work for them, less for me.

Dad is back from his trip, so I don't have to bring in his mail, shovel snow, or pump his back yard if it rains heavily.

Now restaurants are only being allowed to do take-out, so much for going out this weekend to celebrate dad's return.

The grocery store still has plenty of things, but I'll be baking bread for the foreseeable future.  The inexpensive bread is gone, probably because children are home from school and aren't allowed to cook while their parents are at work.  How soon will it be before they get sick of sandwiches?

Fleet Farm was still open yesterday.  I took the opportunity to use a coupon and get cat food, kitty litter, garden seeds, and some other supplies that I did not want to try and find at Sam's Club.

Without all the usual distractions the numbers on mom & stepfather's taxes are all crunched.  Once those are double checked, signed, and mailed, the long list of chores to do at home will start getting shorter.  Poor Ember, her ear cleaning, brushing, bathing, and spring haircut are next on the list along with vacuuming the house top to bottom so she doesn't become Swiffer Dog again in short order.

Hopefully, the post office will keep working.  If it doesn't, Amazon and other online sellers will be up a creek without a paddle.

Do you have cabin fever yet?
I sure do.
Ember's really going to enjoy all the extra walks over the next few weeks.

I should probably buy a 2020 fishing license before the governor forces the hardware store to close.  Fishing is one of the few leisure activities that may still be allowed in public.

All this had better be worth it.
