How can an artist who carefully carved a printing block to produce a print like this, have such an illegible signature? If you have any good guesses who the artist is, please let me know. By the age of the frame and discoloration of the backing paper, I'm guessing it went into the frame some time in the early 20th century. It may have belonged to my mom's friend Heidi, who moved to the USA from Germany after WWII, but mom may have also bought it at a thrift store. Who knows? She sure can't remember.

A Question Most Fathers
are not likely to hear from their daughters.
Ring ring,
Hello,
Dad, may I borrow your hammer drill?
Sure.
Thanks.
There was more to the discussion, but suffice it to say dad may stop by to help with the operation of said drill as well. Chisels and big hammers may also be involved. Maybe I'll get around to taking pictures of this project tomorrow.
